Hey friends, a piece I wrote about the queer poetics of nightlife was published in The Indie, a Brown/RISD weekly. Read here to check out two new poems and learn about how a rave is like a writing desk!

Also, there’s an interesting article in this month’s issue of Poetry magazine by black gay poet Carl Phillips called “A Politics of Mere Being” that explores some themes related to our class–considering how identity is sometimes read biographically onto poems, but also how language can be queer and experimental poetry political.

Two highlight quotes:

“What color are the people in your poems? You don’t say.”

“Is this a black poem? A queer poem? Why or why not, and who says.”
